Missions

The call to "go" reaches beyond the local area and even our nation. We believe that Christians in the West have been blessed with so much, both financially and spiritually, that it is right to sow into other parts of the world that are not so rich.

The Lighthouse has a number of contacts and projects around the world:

UK: We work with other churches in the Poole area and local homeless agency Routes to Roots to provide regular hot meals to the homeless in and around Poole.

JAPAN: Andy Game established an Alpha office in Tokyo and worked with churches throughout Japan to launch the Alpha course. He now works with a multi media team in Yokohama the vision is to see the nation reached with the gospel in a culturally relevant way through film, web and social media. http://7media.org/

UGANDA: Bex & Moses Okotel are permanently based in Mbale, Uganda working with their charity Child of Hope www.childofhopeuganda.org/ which offers safety, hope, love, protection and inner healing to children in Eastern Uganda who have lost their homes, been sexually abused, orphaned from AIDS/HIV or live in abject poverty. They meet with local pastors in and around Mbale to minister and encourage them in the Holy Spirit, and preach at many local churches, praying for a release of the Holy Spirit and healing.

PHILIPPINES: Sam Dowding moved out to live and work in the Philippines some 2 years ago.  He is working with the charity Kanlungan ng Ama ("The Father's Refuge”) www.palawanrescue.org under Duncan and Sara Kellard reaching out to the Badjao sea gypsies (Muslim) who live on stilted huts over the sea.
